Our 2017 Scholarship recipient is Morgan Gates who is from Hendersonville, North Carolina. Morgan will be a senior at UF and is pursuing a Bachelor of Public Health. She has been accepted into the combined degree program to pursue a Master of Public Health and plans to pursue a career in health promotion to help communities lead healthier lives, and combat disease and chronic illness.

She is employed part-time (20 hours per week) on campus at the UF Computing Help Desk, where she has recently been promoted to supervisor. Morgan is also involved in the Undergraduate Public Health Association which hosts community service and outreach events in public health. She volunteers each week at Gainesville Pet Rescue (animal shelter) and is also a tutor for middle and high school aged students in all math, science, and English.
